Born 1956 Delft, Netherlands. Lives and works in Sydney.
Matthys Gerber is an artist who works primarily with painting and photography. His work explores the full gamut of painterly genres, skipping deftly between abstraction and representation, embracing contradiction, defying convention and delighting in the rift between high and low art. Matthys Gerber is a Senior Lecturer in Painting at Sydney College of the Arts.
